Sylvia Chaim was born in 1920. She was just 23 years old when she died. She lived with her mother and two older siblings: Elias born in 1911 and Rena, born in 1916. Their father Avraam had died a few years earlier on December 18 1937. During the war she was a student at the Valagianni Private School for girls, from where she graduated. She later attended Law School at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, but she never completed her studies. Her older brother and mother were the only members of the family who survived.
